Free by Simon Bowen

A temp takes off, a headhunter wins a Dreamcast. A father hires a boy and a daughter needs an escort. The successful and the damaged ricochet around the metropolis. Emotion becomes a commodity with violent consequences in this savage, funny first play. Free is being performed as part of the National Theatre's Transformations season in the Lyttleton Loft in May 2002.

About Simon Bowen

Simon Bowen was first encouraged to write plays by Bernard Kops. His association with Paines Plough began in 1999 when Whitebaby was performed at The Bristol Old Vic. He joined their Wild Lunch writers' group in 2000, and wrote Waterloo, a short piece performed at The Bridewell Theatre. Free is his first full-length play.
