This title looks at the complex course of French political histroy during this period with special reference to the role of Charles de Gaulle. Although the main emphasis of the book is on domestic affairs, their is an examination of French foreign policy, particularly the way in which foreign affairs, such as decolonization and NATO, impinged upon French domestic politics. This book forms part of the series designed to meet the needs of A level and Higher grade history students.
