Tells the story of 14 women who were tied to their homes or unrewarding jobs. Although they felt thwarted by their limited qualifications, and angry about the obstacles that turn women away from further education, they undertook OU foundation courses and went on to obtain degrees. This book, published to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the Open University, tells of the women's achievements.
