Fun Hats Summary

Fun Hats: Delightful & Amusing Hats to Knit, Wear & Love by Lynne Rowe

Wacky, quirky and fun; who could resist knitting one of these fab, crazy hats. From cute to just plain silly, this book contains 30 designs for one-of-a-kind hats for babies through to teens and the adventurous adult. The hats can be worn for fancy dress, Christmas, Easter or just to get noticed. When people stop and ask "Where did you get that hat?" you can proudly say "I made it myself!" Knitting for fun is bang on trend. Landmarks, Olympic athletes and popular celebrities have all been brought to life with needles and yarn. Knitted graffiti, also known as `guerrilla knitting' is gaining popularity year on year, where knitters leave brightly coloured knitting tied to various objects, much to the amusement of the local population. "What's the point though?" many ask. Well it's all about making people smile and creating mini works of art for everyone to admire - and that's the aim of this book, as well as creating cool hats for those cold days out. Knitted hats are great for all knitters from beginners to advanced, as they're quick to make and are portable too. You could be the talk of the town as you sit knitting your crazy hats on the bus, on the train or in the cafe. It doesn't matter if you're not an experienced knitter as the introductory sections will contain all the knitty know-how you need to knit your own creation.
It includes:
* 30 fun knitted hat projects from knitted nightmares to cute creatures
and fancy dress from the author and guest designers
* A guide to all the essential tools, techniques and stitches to get started
* Instructions for all levels of knitter from beginner to intermediate
* A stitch and yarn directory plus a sizing guide
* Full colour photography, diagrams and illustrations throughout
