The Treasures of the Impressionists Summary

The Treasures of the Impressionists by Jonathan Kear

No other group of artists has had such an impact on art in the last 200 years or had works that, in recent years, have reached figures into the upper tens of millions of dollars. The Treasure of the Impressionists looks at the journeys and the struggle that the Impressionists endured to establish themselves as creditable performers on the world stage and gain acknowledgement from both critics and public alike. Augmented by the inclusion of at least ten items of memorabilia, such as an illustrated letter by Manet, sketches and drawings by Sisley, Monet and Pisarro, as well as an article by their renowned contemporary Charles Baudelaire on their work, The Treasures of the Impressionists offers insights into their talent and technique.
