Dict of Worcester Porcelain 1 1751-1851 by John Sandon
There is probably no one who knows more about Worcester porcelain than that famous father and son team of Henry and John Sandon. From an early age John Sandon helped his father with excavations and research within the factory itself and Volume I of this Dictionary contains detailed new information on recent excavations. Some major finds from the lowest (earliest) levels of occupation on the site which throw a very important new light on the first years of the factory are illustrated here for the first time. As well as the 600 or more dictionary entries Volume I includes a historical survey, an illustrated section on marks, extracts from contemporary accounts of visits to the factories and a bibliography. The book is aimed at ceramic historians, collectors, curators, dealers, libraries.
