Higher Engineering Mathematics Summary

Higher Engineering Mathematics by John O. Bird

This is a fully comprehensive and highly practical resource to the subject of engineering mathematics. John Bird's approach, based on numerous worked examples supported by problems, is ideal for students from a wide range of academic backgrounds, and can be worked through at the student's own pace. This has been proved by the thousands of students guided to exam success by previous editions of this book and the highly popular companion title Engineering Mathematics. A wide and thorough topic coverage makes this an ideal text for a wide range of university degree modules and institution-devised HNC/D units. However, the book has been written specifically to cater for the engineering mathematics units of the new Higher National Engineering schemes from Edexcel, including the core unit 'Analytical Methods for Engineers', and the two specialist units 'Further Analytical Methods for Engineers' and 'Engineering Mathematics', common to both the electrical/electronic engineering and mechanical engineering pathways. The new edition covers the 'Engineering Mathematics' unit in its entirety, covering material particularly appropriate to undergraduate students studying with this book. A free Instructor's Manual is available to download, containing full solutions to all of the assignments featured in the book. Also available on the companion website is a comprehensive set of introductory level algebra and related material, to enable students to revise the basics of this essential area of engineering mathematics before embarking on further study of the subject as a whole. It is updated throughout to cover the engineering mathematics units of the new Higher National schemes from Edexcel, including the compulsory core unit Analytical Methods for Engineers. It includes over 800 worked examples and over 1,500 problems, to enable the student to apply mathematics in real-world engineering contexts. Free Instructor's Manual provides full solutions to the assignments featured in the book.
