About Ingeborg Bachmann

Ingeborg Bachmann has been recognized as a significant influence on such writers as Gunter Grass, Max Frisch, Christa Wolf, and Peter Handke. Her many awards include the prestigious Georg Buchner prize. In addition to one novel and two short story collections, her work includes major poetry collections, essays, and radio plays. Bachmann died in 1973 at the age of 47.
