Walking the Cheviots Summary

Walking the Cheviots: Classic Circular Routes by Edward Baker

This book provides an excellent introduction to this solitary, wild countryside. Everyone is catered for from weekend family walkers to the experienced hill walker with all the walks personally checked and trod by the author. Each route contains details of the natural history, geology and archaeology of the area descriptively written by Edward Baker who has lived his whole life in the region. For ease of reference, the book is in two sections, covering the northern and southern Cheviots - distinct areas with their own unique character. There are almost 50 walks - by far the most comprehensive collection published for the Cheviots.
