The Newlyn School created some of the most memorable and popular British art of the last 100 years, and the work and lifestyle of its members reflects the tranquil years around the turn of the century. This study focuses on the Newlyn School's founder and mentor, Stanhope Forbes, but also includes biographical accounts of every major member, including such figures as Dame Laura Knight and Alfred Munnings.
