About Carol A. Miller, MSN, RN-BC, AHN-BC

Carol A. Miller, MSN, RN-BC, is a Clinical Instructor, Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing and a Clinical Nurse Specialist, Care & Counseling, Private Geriatric Care Practice. She is author of Nursing for Wellness in Older Adults 6, which received an AJN Book of the Year Award in Gerontology, and Nurse's Toolbook for Promoting Wellness. Ms. Miller has published more than 100 nursing articles and textbook chapters. She has taught at Cleveland State University and The University of Akron, among others. Ms. Miller has served as a spokesperson for a national health education campaign on issues related to care giving, which involved appearances on hundreds of radio and TV programs, including Good Morning America. Ms. Miller has served on the professional advisory board of the Alzheimer's Association and is widely recognized as an expert in care of older adults. Her expertise in person-centered care for people with dementia comes from over three decades of clinical practice, research, and writing. Clinical settings include a geropsychiatric program, inpatient and outpatient hospital programs, long-term care settings, and home and community settings. Since 1990, Ms. Miller has addressed needs of people with dementia and their care partners in many settings as a consultant, advisor, and direct care provider through her geriatric care management practice.
