Books by J. K. Rowling

A reader’s guide to J K Rowling

A modern fantasy author born and raised in the UK who needs no introduction, J K Rowling is one of the most successful writers of all time. Born in Gloucestershire in 1965, J K Rowling loved stories and writing from an early age – yet her early professional life was one of financial difficulty for many years.

All that changed in 1997 – the year that Harry Potter & The Philosopher’s Stone was first published. For the next 10 years, readers were – if you’ll pardon the pun – spellbound by the books by J K Rowling landing on the shelves. Each new Harry Potter novel was an eagerly awaited cultural event and matched by Hollywood blockbuster film releases besides.

That said, the purity of the books is where many Harry Potter fans’ hearts reside to this day, and with good reason. However, J K Rowling has gone on to publish many other works besides her famous Wizarding World series.
