On 28th July 1986, around lunchtime, a young woman consulted her office diary: 12.45: Mr Kipper, 37 Shorrolds Road. She pushed back her chair, walked out into the bright London sunshine, and never came back. This is an investigation into the disappearance of Suzy Lamplugh, the young estate agent whose fate, still unknown, aroused unprecedented public interest in Britain. It set in train the biggest missing person's enquiry in history. With the co-operation of detectives and of Suzy's family, Stephen looked into the events surrounding the disappearance, the background and the aftermath, including the formation of the Suzy Lamplugh Trust. Andrew Stephen is former senior editor for The Sunday Times and now writes for The Observer. He has won two awards for writing in the course of his journalistic career including Features Writer of the Year in 1984.
