Teaching and Learning Physics imparts all the experience and best practice of the author's many years teaching in the UK. The book is mainly focused on practical solutions, rather than teaching theories; it includes materials developed in various contexts and on training courses, and is in line with latest teaching strategies and learning styles in Physics. It should inspire all PGCE students, graduate teacher trainees, science teachers and HODs in secondary schools and colleges.

The author is based at Danes Educational Trust, where he has been a successful Head of Physics for many years. He has played a pivotal role in the development of departmental policy and practice in order to secure exceptional standards of teaching and learning across the Trust. As Trust learning lead for science (Physics), he has supported and coached trainees and science teachers in developing and upskilling their teaching practice. He has also prepared and produced a significant number of schemes of learning with accompanying resources, which have been employed by schools/colleges nationally. He has always secured the highest grading for his lessons and is an inspiring presenter of Physics courses. The author is a firm believer in the efficacy of active learning techniques. He has led various teacher training courses in Physics over many years. As a nationally accredited Lead STEM facilitator and Specialist leader of education (SLE), he has provided bespoke support, advice and consultancy services for a range of schools/colleges beyond his own, consistently raising achievement in science/Physics. He has planned and led workshops during inset days as well as in science seminars. Recently he has prepared and led an A-level Physics course for non-Physics specialised teachers who are considering teaching or lecturing in Physics. The quality of teaching and learning of Physics has always been his priority, and to help educators develop as excellent Physics practitioners is his goal.
