Since the days of YOPs (Youth Opportunity Programmes), social and life skills have been recognized as an important, if often neglected, area of young people's education. The Youth Training Scheme has done much since 1982 to ensure that young people are given more than a haphazard introduction to what are important survival skills. This book of assignments, covering some of the key areas of social and life skills, is intended to be of help to tutors and students when designing their own programme of topics in this important area of the curriculum.
