About Xu Deng (Newcastle University Academic Track (NUAcT) Fellow, Newcastle University, Electrical Power Research Group, UK)

Xu Deng is a Newcastle University academic track (NUAcT) fellow in electrical power with the Electrical Power Research Group at Newcastle University, UK. Her main research interests are integrated motor drives (IMDs) and advanced control techniques for electric motor drive systems. Barrie Mecrow is a professor with the Electrical Power Research Group at Newcastle University, UK. Prior, he was a turbo-generator design engineer at NEI Parsons, UK. His research interests include fault-tolerant drives, high-performance permanent magnet machines, and novel switched reluctance drives. He has numerous industrial links, including being the advisor to Rolls-Royce on electrical machines and technical advisors to both Dyson and Protean Electric.
