Dreamsnake Summary

Dreamsnake by Vonda McIntyre

A haunting story of an extraordinary woman on a dangerous quest in a far-future post-apocalyptic world.

Snake travels the land with her serpents, the rattlesnake Sand, the cobra Mist and the rare alien dreamsnake called Grass, whose bite can ease the fear and pain of death.

But the blasted landscape of a far-future post-holocaust Earth is a dangerous place, even for such a highly regarded elite healer . . . especially when an unexpected death sends her on a desperate quest to reclaim her healing powers.

Dreamsnake, winner of the Hugo, Nebula and Locus Awards, is back in print at last.

Dreamsnake Reviews

A beautiful achievement * The Guardian *
It's a haunting, rich, and tender novel that explores the human side of science fiction in a manner that's all too uncommon. The world it creates is vivid and fascinating, and Snake is a marvellously well realized character * Roger Zelazny *
A splendid tale, combining the sensitivity and attention to mood of the new generation of SF writers with a gripping and well-worked-out adventure * Publishers Weekly *
This is a book like a mountain stream - fast, clean, clear, exciting, beautiful * Ursula K. Le Guin *
An accomplished, compelling work * challengingdestiny.com *
