These memoirs were written by Tony Richardson, in secret, when he knew he was dying. He wrote them for his three daughters and the manuscript was discovered after his death. He talks to his children in a familiar way, about his upbringing in Yorkshire, his emergence as a theatre director at Oxford University and his move to London. It also looks at his career as a co-founder of the English Stage Co., his marriage to Vanessa Redgrave, and his memoirs of working as the director of Look Back in Anger and The Charge of the Light Brigade.
