The third of the series featuring Tildy, from the exploited 1820s nailmaking community of Bromsgrove in Worcestershire. Tildy's experience of caring for the sick in the poorhouse stands her in good stead when she gets a job as a nurse to the invalid Mrs. Dugdale.
