Spider the horrible cat appears one day prowling amongst Mrs Broom's milk bottles, scowling and crossing his eyes in a very alarming way. But Mrs Broom, who's a little short-sighted, thinks he's a dear little cat and takes him in. In return for her kindness he creates complete havoc.
