The second part of M.M. Kaye's biography covers her return to India after many years of a lonely, drab existence at school in Britain. She and her sister Bets, return and take part in the final years before the beginning of the Second World War. It is a world of travel, of glorious trips down the Ganges, life on a house-boat on a lake in Kashmir, visits to Indian palaces, parties up in the hill station of Simla, the social whirl of a lost world.
