Carol Fenner was an award-winning author of children's books, winning the Christopher Award and the Coretta Scott King Award, as well as twice being a runner up for the Newbery Award. Kathleen M Peyton is a top-selling author of more than thirty novels and is a winner of both the Carnegie Medal and the Guardian Award. She lives in Essex with her husband. Christine Pullein-Thompson was born in 1925 and wrote over 100 books, a great many of which were about horses and ponies.
