About Ian Hill

Alain Le Garsmeur is an acclaimed photographer who lives in Portaferry. He has worked for many international publications, including the Sunday Times and Observer magazines. In 1986 he was awarded a World Press Award for his photographs of China. He moved to Northern Ireland in 1990 and has published a number of photographic books, including Yeats: Images of Ireland, Strangford: Portrait of an Irish Lough and Lough Erne. Ian Hill was a former director of the Northern Ireland Tourist Board and was author of, and contributor to, numerous travel books about the island of Ireland, including Strangford: Portrait of an Irish Lough and Lough Erne. He worked as a presenter for RTE, UTV and the BBC, and contributed regularly to journals and newspapers in Belfast, Dublin and London.
