She has a BSc (Hons) in Chemical Pathology and Clinical Pharmacology, a Diploma of Anaesthesia and was made a member of the Royal College of Physicians in 1997. She has trained as a ballet dancer, danced on television, and is ranked within the top 50 in the world in Ballroom and Latin American Dance.
