Summary

The story of Sex Pistols bassist Glen Matlock, as told in his own words via thirty songs.

Triggers Summary

Triggers: A Life in Music by Glen Matlock

A fascinating new book charting the life and career of Sex Pistols legend Glen Matlock through the lens of thirty of his most formative songs - from the ones that influenced him as a child to the ones he wrote and played on as a star.

Sharing insider tales of the Sex Pistols' earliest gigs and stormiest reunions, as well as their most idiosyncratic inter-band dynamics, Triggers offers a vivid insight into the ultimate icons of punk. Yet, having performed and recorded with so many musical luminaries over the decades, Glen also reflects on his time with the likes of Iggy Pop, David Bowie, the Faces, Blondie, Primal Scream and many more, bookending his account with two 'winters of discontent': 1976 and 2022.

This is the story of an outspoken, uncompromising man and remarkable, game-changing musician.

About Glen Matlock

Glen Matlock is the legendary former bass player and songwriter in the Sex Pistols. He is credited with co-writing ten of the twelve tracks on their sole studio album, Never Mind the Bollocks. He left the band in 1977 and formed the Rich Kids with Midge Ure, enjoying chart success with their 1978 'Rich Kids' single.

Matlock has been involved in all three subsequent Sex Pistols reunions tours, the last of which took place in 2007 before relations with singer John Lydon once again broke down.

In 2023, Matlock will release his sixth solo album, Consequences Coming, and joins Blondie on their forthcoming album and tour.
