Summary

This volume contains 20 colour photographs of Lindisfarne, home of Celtic saints on the wild Northumbrian coast. Each photograph is the inspiration for a new prayer written by David Adam, in which he reflects on both the ruggedness and the beauty to be found in this holy place.

Island of Light Summary

Island of Light: An Illustrated Collection of New Prayers by David Adam

The small island of Lindisfarne has a rare quality of light that is marvellously captured in this collection of full-colour photographs by Robert Cooper. Each one is the inspiration for a new prayer by David Adam, in which he reflects on both the ruggedness and the often-unexpected beauty to be found in this 'holy place'. A rich resource for personal devotion, Island of Light opens our eyes to the glory of God that is always around us, during times of difficulty and times of joy.

Island of Light Reviews

Follows the very successful Landscapes of Light, which has sold over 6,600 copies and has been described as one of the most beautiful prayer books I have come across for some considerable time. New Link
