The Australian-based author of the international bestsellers "The Power of One" and "Tandia" celebrates the life of his son Damon and describes the difficulties of coming to terms with his death from AIDS at the age of 24. Damon was a haemophiliac, and the book gives an insight into the life of a family coping first with haemophilia and then AIDS. It is also an indictment of an often apparently heartless medical establishment's approach to haemophilia, as well as a reminder of the carelessness with which the HIV virus was originally treated. Proceeds from the book are being donated to the Haemophiliac Foundation of Australia.
