There have been important recent developments in the field of consumer protection and the book has been substantially revised to reflect these. In addition to general updating the new edition considers the practice of online auctions for the first time. There is also a section on looted art . About Brian Harvey (Former Solicitor and Professor of English Law, University of Birmingham School of Law)

Brian Harvey is a former solicitor and Emeritus Professor of property law at the University of Birmingham. He is an honorary member of the Society of Fine Art Auctioneers. Frank Meisel is a barrister and Senior Lecturer at the Aston Business School, Aston. He is an honorary member of the Society of Fine Art Auctioneers.
