Sir Bobby Robson Summary

Sir Bobby Robson: Just call me Bobby... by Bob Harris

'...does the near-impossible by making football's classiest manager look even classier.' DAILY MIRROR The first pictorial celebration of the life and times of Sir Bobby Robson, one of the most successful football managers ever, much loved and respected throughout the world of football. For over 50 years (he joined Fulham in 1950) he has been involved in the game at the highest level, as a player, at first division and international level (21 caps), and as coach and international coach (1982-90). Along with the triumphs - capturing the UEFA Cup with Ipswich and taking England to within a penalty shoot-out of a World Cup Final - he has had his share of drama and despair, sacked from Fulham and from Sporting Lisbon, and hounded by the press from his position as England coach as well as recovering from cancer. Bob Harris, a close acquaintance of Sir Bobby, tells the football manager's own story, which is exclusively interlarded with stories and anecdotes from many of the most famous names in football. A must for football fans everywhere.

Sir Bobby Robson Reviews

Following the sacking of Sir Bobby Robson as manager of Newcastle, we have agreed to add a further eight page chapter to our forthcoming trade paperback edition 'Sir Bobby Robson: Living the Game' at 8.99. We will delay publication by one week so that we will now publish on 21 October 2004, and the last chapter will have photographs of Sir Bobby Robson's departure, quotes from key figures in the game and commentary from the author, Bob Harris. The cover will be changed so that the flash which currently says 'Revised and Updated to include the 2003/04 season' will be replaced with a new flash highlighting that the book covers his departure. Accordingly, we'll be doing an additional paperbacks mailing to specialist sports editors, radio and TV progs and magazines - watch this space!
