Haiku for the Single Girl Summary

Haiku for the Single Girl by Beth Griffenhagen

I feel its approach, Inevitable as death: Internet dating. Unsolicited relationship advice from relatives, disastrous dates, men who wear thumb rings, and the moments of deep satisfaction when a single girl realizes that (unlike her smug married friends) she can do whatever she wants with her time - it's all here in this brilliantly incisive and witty collection of haikus. Every woman - whether single or not - will laugh until she cries, and then start laughing all over again.

Haiku for the Single Girl Reviews

Funny, heart-warming, the perfect pocket-sized present. Bit jealous I didn't think of this myself -- Laura Dockrill
Captures the hilarious moments of dating and singledom in short 5-7-5 bursts of brilliance * * The Frisky * *
Trust us, you want to own this book...if you're not single, you can give it to your most vociferously single girl friend, who will probably quote it for like, a month * * HowAboutMe * *
With her book of 72 hilarious haikus, the traditional Japanese three line poems, Beth shares her funny, uplifting, and at times, down-right shocking, relationship advice collected from relatives, disastrous dates and happy single girls everywhere. But it's her outlook on dating life, especially the realisation that a single girl can do whatever she wants with her time (unlike her married friends) that we love the most. Quirky, honest and properly funny, these lines have filled the hole left by our much-loved, if fictional, writer Carrie Bradshaw and her creator, writer of Sex and the City, Candace Bushnell * * Red * *
