Books by Michael Gilbert

Born in 1912, Michael Gilbert took a law degree at London University and after serving in North Africa and Italy during the second World War he completed his training a as solicitor, entering the Lincoln's Inn firm in which he eventually became a partner. He was a founder member of the Crime Writers' Association and has had over thirty crime novels and collections of short stories published. He was given the Swedish Grand Master Award in 1981 and the Edgar Allan Poe Grand Master Award of the Mystery Writers of America in 1987. He is married with seven children and lives in Kent where he is retired from the law, but not from writing.
