The subject of business ethics addresses what can be considered morally right and wrong in the way businesses make decisions and conduct their activities. Business Ethics is a lively and engaging textbook covering the foundations of business ethics and applying these theories, concepts and tools to each of the corporation's major stakeholders. Written from a European perspective, the text considers the implications of three major challenges facing the corporation: corporate citizenship, globalization and sustainability. This second edition has been thoroughly revised and updated and includes new content on personal values and Asian perspectives. It features lots of new cases and vignettes as well as updates of favourites from the first edition. The high level of pedagogical features has been extended for the new edition, with new features including 'Ethics on Screen' and 'Key Readings'. The online resource centre has been developed further with new features including more teaching notes, incorporating review and discussion questions for lecturers, and additional weblinks for students.

About Andrew Crane


Professor Andrew Crane holds a Chair in Business Ethics at the International Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility at Nottingham University Business School. He holds a PhD from the University of Nottingham and a BSc from the University of Warwick. He has over ten years experience of teaching and researching business ethics, and has spoken and published widely on the subject. Journals in which his work has been published include the Academy of Management Review, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Business Research, and Organization Studies. From January 2007, he will take up a position as the George R. Gardiner Professor of Business Ethics in the Schulich School of Business at York University in Canada. Professor Dirk Matten holds a Chair in Business Ethics and is Director of the Centre for Research into Sustainability at Royal Holloway, University of London. He has a PhD and the Habilitation from Heinrich-Heine-University Dusseldorf in Germany. He has taught the subject at universities in Britain, France, Germany, Belgium and the Czech republic. His work is published in leading journals such as the Academy of Management Review, Journal of Management Studies, Human Relations, Journal of Business Ethics and Organization Studies. From January 2007, he will take up a position as the Hewlett-Packard Chair in Corporate Social Responsibility in the Schulich School of Business at York University in Canada.
