About Allison Davis

Allison Davis (19021983) was a pioneering anthropologist and longtime professor at the University of Chicago, where, in 1942, he became the first Black American to hold a fullfacultyposition at a major white university. Burleigh B. Gardner (19021988) and Mary R. Gardner (19091983) were Harvard-trained social scientists.
