Olivier Dunrea was born and raised in rural south Virginia in the US. Most members of his family have not learnt to read or write, and so he comes from a strong oral storytelling tradition. Author and illustrator of over thirty books for children and adults, he is also a trained actor, singer and dancer. He lives in the mountains in New York State with his partner and their seven dogs.
