Mordicai Gerstein is the author and illustrator of more than thirty books for young readers, among them picture books, biblical retellings, alphabets, and works of fiction. He was awarded the 2004 Caldecott Medal for The Man Who Walked Between the Towers, called 'a tour de force' by the San Francisco Chronicle, a 'milestone' by the Boston Globe, and a 'breathtaking homage to extraordinary buildings and a remarkable man' by Kirkus Reviews. Mordicai Gerstein lives in Northampton, Massachusetts.
