Melissa Palmer is a writer, nerd, baker, part-time kitchen dancer, and full-time mom. She pulls from herexperiences with her own daughters - the two superheroes who shape and guide her life - to create theworld and characters seen in Baking for Dave. Melissa was a finalist for the Eric Hoffer Award in short fiction, which was featured in the book Best New Writing in 2015. Her short story "Mrs. MacMillan's Garden" was nominated in 2013 for the Pushcart Prize, and she won the Atlantic Cape Community College Teacher "Pioneer Award" in 2016. When she's not writing, she's biking or running (either on theroad or after one of the many animals in her menagerie).
