Owen Hodkinson is Lecturer in Greek and Roman Cultures at the University of Leeds. He is the author of Authority and Tradition in Philostratus' Heroikos (2011) and of Metafiction in Classical Literature: The Invention of Self-Conscious Fiction (2017, forthcoming). Helen Lovatt is Associate Professor of Classics at the University of Nottingham. Her books include Statius and Epic Games: Sport, Politics and Poetics in the Thebaid (2005), The Epic Gaze: Vision, Gender and Narrative in Ancient Epic (2013) and In Search of the Argonauts: The Remarkable History of Jason and the Golden Fleece (I.B.Tauris, forthcoming 2018).
