After her degrees, she found her niche editing travel guidebooks; but working on other authors' adventures only made her itchy feet worse. So she set off once more on extended trips, and evolved into a roving travel writer. She worked on numerous Lonely Planet guidebooks including Peru. Venezuela, India,Portugal and South Amercia. As Charlotte points out, she wasn't born a fearless traveller- it took years of practice to hone her travelling skills.
