With his controversial partner Eddie Large, Syd Little has broken all box office records and experienced prosperity that he could never have dreamed of as a Lancashire boy. The book celebrates a life given to the enjoyment of others. But it also tells of a double blow which literally drove him to his knees. First, his only son framed Little in a drugs deal reported in the "Sun" newspaper. He was later found dead from an overdose. Shortly afterwards his daughter almost died after a vicious knife attack by an ex-boyfriend. Both events happened in 1992. These tragedies were a turning point in Little's life.
