Mechanical Design Process David G. Ullman
Focusing on the process of mechanical design, this work defines terms basic to studying the design process and discusses human interface with mechanical products. Techniques are presented to aid in: problem understanding (quality function development), planning, concept generating (functon decomposition, morphologies), concept evaluation (technology assessment, Pugh's method), product generation (concurrent design), and product evaluation (robust design, design for assembly, design for reliability cost estimations).
