1000 GREAT QUILT BLOCKS Zusammenfassung

This book really does contain 1,000 blocks for making patchwork quilts. Many are familiar old favorites; others are not so well known. All are shown as diagrams, with a key to outline the constituent parts of each block so you can figure your own measurements and draft your own templates to make a block of any size to suit your requirements. Tips to help you estimate fabric requirements are also included. There are hints for enlarging and reducing patterns, for working out how to add seam allowances to any element, square or not, and examples of combined blocks that make secondary patterns when they are put together with other blocks. 1,000 Great Quilting Blocks is divided into sections according to type of block: four-patch, five-patch, seven-patch, nine-patch, one-piece patterns, strips, curves, baskets, pictorial blocks, and even an alphabet or two. In addition, there are patterns, including many of the star designs that depend on sharp points, to copy for use in foundation piecing.
