Books by Pauline Baynes

Pauline Baynes drew the original line illustrations for J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings and C.S. Lewis's The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. Her portrayals of Middle Earth and Narnia helped transform the books into towering classics, which, in 2000, were voted Book of the Millennium and Children's Book of the Millennium respectively by the Library Association. She illustrated all Tolkien's other books during his lifetime and after his death was commissioned to illustrated Bilbo's Last Song. Recently she updated the Narnia illustrations in colour for a 50th anniversary edition. Her books for Frances Lincoln include The Moses Basket and The Coat of Many Colours with Jenny Koralek, and I Believe: the Nicene Creed.
