The New Adventures of Mr Toad: Toad in Troubled Waters by Tom Moorhouse
Teejay (which stands for Toad Junior), Mo and Ratty are fishing on the riverbank when their peace is disturbed by Toad's out of control river cruiser. Toad is obsessed with following some rather dubious treasure-hunt clues but who is setting the clues and why are they so keen to keep Toad away from Toad Hall? As the shady operations of the stoats and weasels continues, it's up to Toad's loyal friends to guide him out of troubled waters and keep his dignity intact! With outrageous antics from Mr Toad, action-packed adventure from the start, and stylish two-colour illustrations from Holly Swain that capture all the comedy, this is a fantastic package for young readers.
'What Tom has done is to keep the fun, the characters, the silliness and the light - but cast it all in a modern frame that really worksWhat I hope is that this is not a one-off ... the characters - young toad, mole and vole - the matriarchal badger - the evil empire of weasels and stoats - are all too good to be left with just the one outing ... more please!' * Amazon *

Tom Moorhouse lives in Oxford. When not writing fiction he works as an ecologist at Oxford University's Zoology Department. Over the years he has met quite a lot of wildlife. Most of it tried to bite him. He loves hiking up mountains, walking through woods, climbing on rocks, and generally being weather-beaten outdoors. Holly Swain studied Illustration at UWE Bristol before taking up a place on the Narrative Illustration and Editorial Design (later Sequential Illustration) MA in Brighton. She has since illustrated a selection of picture book texts by authors such as Cressida Cowell, Ronda Armitage, and Simon Puttock. Holly's studio is in a conservatory in her seaside home.
