That word colourful does it for me every time. I just cannot wait to peek inside, hoping to get lost in a world of bright and colourful yarn. Take it from me you will be lost forever in this book, colour enough for days and days of pretty hooky. Leonie has created 75 hexagon patterns for us to do with as we want. If you are an adventurous crocheter I think this is a genius idea. I tried one pattern immediatly...
Let me explain, sometimes I love a pattern and will complete it without changing one stitch, However often times I feel I could improve a pattern and use it in a different way. So by giving us 75 pattern motifs, Leonie opens up a world of crochet adventure and imagination giving us plenty of inspiration to get started on our own ideas.

Bored with making squares? Here is the inspiration to try hexagons instead and enjoy playing with lots of colours. The patterns are divided into equal sections: beginner, intermediate and advanced. Lovely clear charts for each with a colour photo and written instructions all on the same page, in the familiar Search Press style.
Beginners need have no fear as there is a section explaining basic stitches and techniques such as working in rounds, joining in new colour, reading charts and more. Each pattern lists the chart symbols used which you can then look up in a list at the back. I found the charts helped me with the number and placing of stitches on the 6 sides so that you don't end up with a wonky hexagon.
The Beginner Section focuses on combinations of the basic stitches. The Intermediate Section has more interesting stitches such as popcorns and surface crochet, and the Advanced Section has challenging stuff which will appeal to people who like BPtr, bullions and unusual use of chains.
Some thoughtful touches include practical advice on choosing colours. Also, all the yarn amounts needed are given with each pattern. Very useful whether you are using up scraps or planning a blanket and want to make sure you have enough yarn to complete it. And there are hints on designing half-hexagons to fill in gaps.
Design your own blankets, cushions or bags, or use the hexagons individually as striking coasters or a decorative potholder to hang in the kitchen - perhaps the start of a collection.
