Summary

Harry and his friends find themselves despairing as they realise the war against Voldemort is failing. His evil is spreading and beginning to affect not only the world of wizards and witches, but the muggle world too. Even the safe haven of Hogwarts is no longer the same, with Dumbledore leaving for long periods of time. Things also look ever bleaker for those united in the Order of the Phoenix who suffer great casualties as they try to bring Voldemort down.

Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince Summary

Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince: Children's Edition by J. K. Rowling

However, life for the students of Hogwarts continues and with it, Harry and his friends learn and practice their magic, and do what teenagers do - fall out, make up, and even fall in love. With the help of the ‘Half-Blood Prince’, Harry receives some much-needed assistance with his potions. As the story unfolds, Harry also learns more about how Voldemort came to be and in doing so discovers his only weakness.
The sixth book in the Harry Potter series will not disappoint. Compelling, action-packed, and very dark in places, it weaves different plotlines together and is full of the surprises, friendships, danger, and humour that we have come to expect from this award-winning series.
You should read this book if…
  • You enjoy fast-paced, sometimes dark, always exciting stories that touch on themes of friendship, self-discovery, romance, and good triumphing over evil
  • You love magical adventure tales full of twists and turns
  • You are hungry for the next book in the riveting Harry Potter series!
