Wood: Materials for Inspirational Design by Chris Lefteri
An inspirational exploration of how one of the most traditional materials, wood, is used in many different ways. Long used for furniture and architecture, wood is today used more for its aesthetic qualities and is enjoying a revival. Wood features unusual contemporary applications such as interior products made of cork and bamboo and veneered wall coverings or architectural uses such as Norwegian sustainable housing and Japanese wood and paper housing, as well as musical instruments, handbags, boats and a bath. All types of wood are represented, as are numerous processes, including carving, staining, veneering, moulding and pulping.
