Indonesian born Dutchman Raymond van Rijk, now a New Zealand resident, runs 'Raymond's BBQ Gourmet' classes all over New Zealand and in Europe. Raymond's passion for food began in his mother's kitchen cooking Indonesian cuisine, and extended to encompass the breadth of European cuisine when he lived in Europe. He graduated from the School of Hotel Management, Maastricht, The Netherlands. Seeking new horizons Raymond travelled to New Zealand in 1979 and settled there. His last twenty five years have been spent running a restaurant and catering operation in the wine country region of Hawke's Bay. Raymond now enjoys sharing his barbeque knowledge.
