Tom Lodge is Professor of Peace and Conflict Studies in the Department of Politics and Public Administration at the University of Limerick, Ireland. Before his arrival in Limerick in 2005 he was Professor of Political Studies at the University of the Witwatersrand.

Ebrahim Fakir read for a BAHons in English Literature at the University of the Witwatersrand, where he actively participated in campus politics. He was Senior Researcher at the Centre for Policy Studies in Johannesburg (2003-2009), worked at the Institute for Democracy in South Africa (IDASA) [1998-2003] and at the first democratic Parliament (1996-1998).
