366 pages. No dust jacket. Blue cloth with decoration and gilt title panel. Contains an illustrated frontispiece in colour and monochrome illustrations. Pages remain mostly clear with light tanning and foxing throughout and some occasional marking. Heavier tanning to endpapers. Previous owner's inscription to front free endpaper. Gutters cracked in several places, webbing exposed, plate opposite page 304 detached but present. Boards are moderately marked and worn and have wear to edges, bumping to corners, crushing and fraying to spine.
