Table of Contents
This is the story of a true survivor. Having faced and endured horrific and sustained abuse, Sue Owen had the courage to confront her tormentors - her own father and her stepmother. And with incredible strength, in the end she won through. The abuse by her resentful stepmother started when Sue was a little girl and was truly horrifying: physical, emotional and sexual. Her natural father carried on his sexual abuse independently. Her journey to recovery began after she successfully tracked down her real mother and began to see a counsellor. Suffering from a lack of self-esteem, Sue battled alcoholism and weight problems to win through with the help of her own loving family: her husband Darren and their two small children.
